Another film based on a bestselling novel (sensing a trend lately...) is to get the big screen treatment courtesy of Let Me In and Cloverfield director Matt Reeves.
Deadline.com are reporting that Reeves will helm book adaptation The Passage, an intriguing sounding production about a bunch of terminally ill cancer patients who suddenly feel better when they are subjected to an experiment with bat bites. It apparently then goes all vampire-y. "The government starts further experimenting and end up creating a legion of nearly indestructible, telepathic vampire masters that begin infecting the populace." It's quite "28 Days Later" in tone, evidently.
Reeves is a very fine helmer. I loved what he did with Let Me In, and Cloverfield is a smart, underrated production. This could be very cool.
