This morning we've got word that Les Mis director Tom Hooper is rumoured to be in line to helm the Freddie Mercury biopic. Is he the right man for the job? Well he's certainly proved himself with the musical aspect to a film, if Les Mis was anything to go by.
As per Deadline, this would see the director reunite with his Les Mis actor Sacha Baron Cohen. Cohen has been attached for quite some time now to the role of Mercury. It looks set to be a long gestating project, with no major movements as of yet. It was supposed to get underway back in 2011 but then, due to complications, things were put on hold. Recently though Brian May advised that we could expect to see it arrive in cinemas in 2014. What we do know for sure though is who's attached to produce the film: Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Graham King and Tim Headington.
Still reveling in the success of Les Mis and his former Oscar winning The King's Speech, Hooper has yet to announce his next project.
