Leonard Nimoy has passed away at the age of 83.
The veteran actor / director had been retired for several years and was in ill health from pulmonary disease for the final month.
Nimoy tweeted that he quit smoking over thirty years ago, but said that it wasn't soon enough.
Nimoy, who starred as Spock in TV series Star Trek, also had a successful career as a director.
His credits included Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Three Men And A Baby and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
