"Bend and snap is forever"
We're getting just a little hint for what to expect in the second 'Legally Blonde' sequel, thanks to Mindy Kaling.
'The Office' actress and writer is currently penning the script for it with 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' creator Dan Goor. It sounds like 'Legally Blonde 3' is giving much back to the fans.
In an interview with Access, Kaling said: "I love the franchise so much.
"I love Elle Woods as a character and when Reese [Witherspoon] asked me to write it I was like, ‘Absolutely!’"
The threequel imagines Elle as a 40 year old, and Kaling said that was "really fun" to explore, versus what the lawyer was like as a 21 year old student.
Witherspoon will of course be back to play the movie icon.
However, due to the pandemic delaying productions, we'll have to wait a while before shooting for the film kicks off.
Kaling said: "I don’t know when we’ll be able to shoot movies again but it would be great to, if Reese likes the script, shooting it this year would be awesome."
Kaling also hinted that we can expect several references to the first 'Legally Blonde', including the "bend and snap" sequence.
"Bend and Snap is forever," she stated. "We definitely have a lot of fan favorites from the original movie."
