And so, another greedy popstar decides they want to cash in on the movie making business. Lady Gaga is set to play 'an exaggerated version' of herself in Matthew Vaughn's new film, The Secret Service. We're not quite sure there's any more wriggle room to exaggerate where Gaga's concerned; she's about one rashers and sausages meat dress away from revealing herself as a true native of Planet Zog.
The chart topping hitmaker is the latest 'sleb to find herself lined up for a cameo in the forthcoming spy thriller. What sets Gaga apart from the likes of Taylor Swift and David Beckham - who have been rumoured for parts in the film - Gaga'd rather just play herself. She's enough of a character as is, right? Gaga also joins Adele and Sir Elton John (well it's not yet confirmed but their names have indeed been linked) however whether the latter two celebrities will be given a fictional character or not, we don't yet know.
A source tells The Sun newspaper: 'Gaga only had to commit one day to film her scenes early next year. She's such an Anglophile she didn't take much persuading.'
Based on a graphic novel by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, The Secret Service centres on Colin Firth as a super cool secret agent who must teach his younger protege the tricks of the trade if they've any hope of a successful face-off against the movie's villain, played by Samuel L. Jackson. Do we smell a franchise to rival the likes of Bond? Perhaps.
This is not all Gaga's got up her cinematic sleeve: she'll make her debut acting role in Robert Rodriguez's dark action movie 'Machete Kills', (due for release later this year) while she's also said to have 'nailed it' on the set of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
