Filmmaker Kevin Smith is developing a half hour long daily talkshow that he would host, says Vulture.

Smith has long said that his next film, ice hockey comedy Hit Somebody, would be last as a director. No one really believed him, because, well, Kevin Smith talks a lot of sh*te; and as talented and funny as he is, he's prone to consistently hyperbolic ramblings to sell his movies, podcasts or assorted View Askew products. I've liked all of his movies - with the exception of Cop Out - and think he's an incredibly sharp writer, and a talk show format would suit him. But, according to the Vulture article, it would an early evening show on a broadcast network; meaning Smith couldn't shoot off his potty mouth - something his fan base loves. It would have a lot of celebrity guests, though, as the writer/director has a lot of starry connections in Hollywood.

The show is already set to shoot a pilot, with Smith offering his twitter followers a chance to be in the audience for the first episode.
