Scottish actor Kevin McKidd has told a Dublin radio station (we're not sure who) that he's been sought out for a new film version of The Highlander. McKidd would take over a role made famous by Christopher Lambert in the mildly successful film series, and then Adrian Paul in the europop television incarnation. It's great that they're actually going after a smidge of realism with the mooting of an actual Scot for the part. McKidd was heavily linked with the role of Thor in Matthew Vaughn's proposed adaption of the film until it fell through. He was last seen in the mediocre romantic comedy Made of Honour; the title of which was the smartest thing about the film.
