Shooting will restart in London next month
Universal are putting plans in place to have 'Jurassic World: Dominion' re-start filming soon.
The feature marks the second sequel to 'Jurassic World' and is the sixth film in the 'Jurassic Park' franchise.
Its leading actors, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, had returned to the US in the past few months. They're expected to fly back to the UK soon and will need to carry out a two-week quarantine as per new government regulations.
According to Deadline, cameras are expected to start rolling in Pinewood Studios from July 6th.
A two week pre-production period kicks off next week.
The production staff have reportedly been implementing rigorous safety protocols on-site. Universal has been working with the UK’s British Film Council and US unions to ensure the production meets required safety standards.
The studio is said to be spending around $5M on protocols. The production will carry out thousands of tests during the remainder of filming, including having all cast and crew members tested before returning to set and multiple times again during filming.
There's also going to be a private medical facility called Your Doctor to manage the entire production’s medical needs. There'll be Covid training for all cast and crew; on-site doctors, nurses and isolation booths; 150 hand sanitizer stations; nightly anti-viral ‘fogs’; more than 1,800 safety signs put up around Pinewood; and ‘Green Zones’ for shooting cast and crew.
Masks will be obligatory for all other than for actors performing.
According to the report another reason Universal has been eager to get production underway again is that Pinewood has been charging the studio costly holding fees in the interim period.
'Jurassic World: Dominion' is one of a handful of major blockbusters with plans to recommence production. Others include the 'Avatar' sequels and 'Mission: Impossible 7'.
