This week we've got Bryan Cranston flying in to mark the announcement of JDIFF's 2013 dates, and next month we've got French beauty Juliette Binoche to welcome to this Emerald Isle of ours. Spoiling us altogether so they are. ('They' being some sort of movie Gods, OK?)
Ms Binoche will be here as one of the main attractions (in more ways than one) of the IFI French Film Festival 2012 running from 14th-25th November. As one of the most celebrated and criticallya cclaimed French actresses working today, she'll be on hand to prsent her new film Another Woman's Life which screens on Saturday the 24th of November. The IFI French Film Festival also includes the Irish premiere of Michael Haneke's Cannes Palme d'Or- winning Love (Amour) - a definite treat; winner of the 2012 Jean Prix Vigo, Atomic Age (with Director Héléna Klotz in attendance); and a guest appearance by the iconic actress Béatrice Dalle, who will introduce her new film Bye Bye Blondie, as well as her career-defining French classic Betty Blue.
We've long been a fan of French film here at entertainment.ie and with all of the above coming our way, needless to say we're buzzing with excitement. Boasting 20 Irish premieres, and a star-studded guest list among which Béatrice Dalle, Benoit Jacquot, Reba Kateb and Alice de Lencquesaing are included, this is not to be missed.
'We are thrilled with the calibre of guests we've attracted to this year's IFI French Film Festival. It's a testament to the reputation of the Festival that stars like Juliette Binoche and Béatrice Dalle will be in attendance' says IFI director Ross Keane.
Full details on all of the above and more can be found at www.ifi.ie/FrenchFest.
Tickets are on sale from October 26th.
