Joss Whedon has spoken out about the pressures of working on 'The Avengers 2' and how he is finding the sequel 'challenging'. Following the box office success of the original, Whedon was signed to write and direct the sequel but how does he live up to the first?
Talking to Total Film the director said 'I am not going to try and match the box office of the first one because that would be bonkers'. 'There is a certain level of safety – because now people know about The Avengers and they like the characters so it probably won't completely crash and burn'.
He went onto say 'But you don't want to just get by and do something that is merely okay. If I am going to dedicate three years of my short life to this then I want to do something that I have never done before. So I think of The Avengers 2 as a glorious challenge - it is a sequel, yes, but how can it be different?'
So what can we expect from the second film? Back in January Joss said the script would be done in a couple of months and when questioned about what could be expected, he said 'Death, death and lots of death'. Well we have to a bit of a wait before we find out who dies, The Avengers 2 is not due for release until the 1st May 2015.
