There can be only one reboot.
Although he's currently working hard on getting 'John Wick: Chapter 3' over the line, Chad Stahelski also his eye on his next major project - a long-awaited reboot of 'Highlander'.
The '80s classic, which starred Sean Connery as a Spanish guy and Christopher Lambert barely speaking English, featured a rollicking soundtrack from 'Queen' and some crazy sword fights. For Stahelski, it's the sword fights that have him all kinds of excited.
"It’s scarily similar to 'John Wick'. There’s a great mythology, it’s got an action-design challenge," explained Stahelski in a recent interview with EW. "What would a guy really be like after 500 years of practicing sword-work? I’m still a stunt guy at heart. You want to reinvent gunfights, how do you do it? You want to reinvent swordfighting, how do you do it? And that’s where we are at now."
As you can imagine, casting and scripts are a long way off and there's no word on a release date, but the idea of the creative time behind 'John Wick' taking on 'Highlander' is too exciting to ignore.
Plus, you've got to imagine they're going to feature the original Queen soundtrack in there at some point as well.
