Star Wars fans will either be happy about this or quite nervous: JJ Abrams will now have further creative control over the forthcoming movie, Episode VII, as he picks up the task of screenwriting, where former scribe Michael Arndt left off.
Producer Lawrence Kasdan will write alongside JJ after Arndt's duties have drawn to a close after a year of working on the script.
Commenting on the switch in gear, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said: "I am very excited about the story we have in place and thrilled to have Larry and J.J. working on the script.. There are very few people who fundamentally understand the way a Star Wars story works like Larry... J.J. of course is an incredible storyteller in his own right. Michael Arndt has done a terrific job bringing us to this point and we have an amazing filmmaking and design team in place already prepping for production."
Good news? Bad news? Indifferent?
