The film is based on a real-life scandal from the 1920s
She is fast becoming a bit of a national treasure, and it looks like Jessie Buckley's forthcoming film will show yet another facet to her acting. Most notably, her ability to curse like a sailor.
Of course, it also helps that the brilliant Olivia Colman is her castmate in 'Wicked Little Letters', a new black comedy that is based on a true story from 1920s England - when a scandal involving obscene letters rocked the small seaside town of Littlehampton.
Buckley and Colman play neighbours, with Colman amongst those targeted by them and Buckley suspected of being the culprit. Timothy Spall plays the police investigator tasked with solving the riddle.
The trailer, meanwhile, is both hilarious and should probably be listened to with headphones only.
It's released in cinemas on February 23rd 2024, but watch the first trailer below...
