It's one of those castings that is almost too perfect in how it lines together.
Ever since It rampaged through cinemas during the end of the summer, there's been endless speculation about who could potentially play the adult versions of the Losers Club in the inevitable sequel. One name that was bandied about quite a bit was Jessica Chastain in the role of Beverly.
As it turns out, there's already a connection between Jessica Chastain and director Andy Muscietti. Chastain starred in Mama, his directorial debut, and she's also good friends with Barbara Muscietti, Andy's sister. When interviewed by ScreenRant, Chastain was pretty effusive about the whole thing.
"Well, I love Andy and Barbara. I worked with them on Andy’s directorial debut, you know, his film, Mama. His first film. And you know, Barbara is one of my best friends so... We’ll see... Listen, of course, I want to work… they’re my friends. They’re like my family. Anything that they’re doing I want to be a part of, so I hope we can make it happen."
It: Chapter Two won't hit cinemas until September 6th, 2019 - so expect some sort of casting news to be announced in the coming months, and don't be surprised if Jessica Chastain is a part of it.
