'Deliver Me from Nowhere' starts shooting later this year
When it was revealed that a Bruce Springsteen biopic was in the works last month, it generated feverish speculation amongst fans regarding who might actually play The Boss on the big screen.
We even named five actors who might take on the role ourselves - but one name we never considered was Jeremy Allen White.
The star of hit series 'The Bear', and who can currently be seen in cinemas in wrestling drama 'The Iron Claw', is reportedly in the running to play Springsteen in the biopic, which will focus on the events leading up to the making of his 1982 album 'Nebraska'.
According to Deadline, the film is called 'Deliver Me from Nowhere' and will be written and directed by Scott Cooper ('Crazy Heart'), and adapted from Warren Zanes' 2023 book.
They claim that White is the "top choice" to play Springsteen, although negotiations have not yet begun, it would tie in with his filming schedule. Season 4 of 'The Bear' finishes in June, while 'Deliver Me from Nowhere' starts shooting in New Jersey in the autumn.
