As awful ideas for remakes go, one of 80s comedy Overboard, with Jennifer Lopez and her arse, replacing a charming Goldie Hawn is probably the crème de la crème.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress will star in the remake having developed the script with Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, who worked on the hugely enjoyable comedy Accepted.
The original film starred Hawn as a well-to-do woman who falls off her swish yaught and gets amnesia. Real life beau Kurt Russell was the handyman who pretends he is her husband as revenge for how poorly she treated him. Seriously dated, but charming nonethess, it is still a terrible idea.
