Jeff Bridges is in negotiations to replace Zack Galifanakis and star alongside Ryan Reynolds in the Robert Schwentke (Red... meh) directed supernatural comedy R.I.P.D. reports Variety.

The extremely high concept film centres on a police force that happens to have a bunch of dead police officers. But not just lying on the ground dead, oh no, these coppers are ghosts and fight crime from another world. Reynolds has about 15 projects currently vying for his attention, but if Oscar winner Bridges signs on here then this one would move pretty fast to the front of the pile.

I am a huge fan of Reynolds. I watched him in a little-known sitcom years ago called Two Guys and a Girl and saw he has great comic timing so wasn't shocked when he took off. But with Jason Bateman co-starrer The Change-Up and now this messy sounding effort amongst his choices it's starting to look like he's being pushed by his agents into "go" movies to capitalise on the probable success of The Green Lantern. Fingers crossed it works for his sake...
