James Buckley, more widely known as potty-mouthed Jay from the Inbetweeners, has landed a Hollywood role alongside Shia LaBeouf and Oscar-winner Melissa Leo.
The Sun's TV biz reports that James will play a druggie candian backpacker in the film The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman his first film since the Inbetweeners movie which brought in 45 million in UK cinemas during the summer.
The actor who took a break from acting when his girlfriend had their first child in October had hoped for good things to come after the Inbetweeners and this might just be what he was looking for.
James is expected to earn a six figure sum for the film. According to a source close to him “He fitted the mould of the character perfectly and was the outstanding choice. It’s a big chance to establish himself in Hollywood.”
The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman is set for release later this year and focuses on how a young man, played by LaBeouf, falls for a girl who’s played by Evan Rachel Wood.
