Following his slightly bizarre turn as ‘The Joker’ in Suicide Squad, Leto could be forgiven for wanting to avoid comic book adaptations but this doesn’t seem to be the case.
He is being lined up to play Angelo Mortalli in the big-screen version of the indie Valiant comic which was first published in 1992.
Mortalli is a former mob hitman who finds himself in a witness protection programme. He’s then betrayed by an F.B.I minder who kidnaps him and subjects him to experimental treatment where his body is injected with microscopic computers.
Of course he escapes, and we can only assume that chaos ensues.
Director Dave Wilson is also reportedly on board, as is producer Neal Moritz. It is the second movie in the Bloodshot franchise after Harbinger, which is still in production.
