"Marvel & DC fans have a lot more in common than they do not"
James Gunn has sent out a special message thanking Marvel and DC fans.
The writer and director has just commenced production on 'The Suicide Squad'. James Gunn is also due to helm 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3'. This means he'll have made a foray into both the MCU and DCEU.
Gunn was fired from Disney last year for inappropriate tweets then rehired by the studio earlier this year.
It seems all is forgiven now as a bunch of the guys from Marvel Studios, including boss Kevin Feige, have gifted Gunn an 'Adventure Book'. It recalls the Disney Pixar movie 'Up.'
In it were a bunch of BTS pics from the two 'Guardians of the Galaxy' movies. Gunn shared pictures from the book on Twitter, calling it "the coolest & sweetest start-of-production gift ever."
Gunn took the gift as an opportunity to thank both Marvel and DC fans, writing:
"As I’ve said so many times, at the end of the day, Marvel & DC fans have a lot more in common than they do not. I am now & have been for almost all my life, both.
"Maybe you like one more than the other - that’s cool - but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them all or that you have to tear the other down.
"I know I & my partners at both Marvel & DC believe what’s good for one studio is generally good for all: spurring each other on daily with heartfelt, spectacular & innovative entertainment that keeps audiences around the world loving movies based on or inspired by sequential art.
"#marvel #dc Let’s go, team(s)."
