Jack Reynor is looking likely to play a real life, still playing baseball superstar in a film written and directed by Casey Affleck.
The autobiography 'Beyond Belief: Finding The Strength To Come Back', centres on the rise, fall and rise again of Los Angeles superstar, Josh Hamilton who by all accounts is a home run machine for the Major League Baseball team.
A crack addiction forced Hamilton's wife to kick him out of their home, and saw the future star cleaning toilets at a baseball training facility. After his comeback, he was named the league's Most Valuable Player in 2010.
Here he is knocking it out of the park (literally) to The Dark Knight soundtrack.
Sounds like a corker of a role for Reynor, with Affleck developing the project for some time before settling on his lead.
Transformers: Age of Extinction, starring Raynor, bows in Ireland on July 5th.
