There are a bunch of cracking movies out at the minute, but you can’t really drag the little ones on their midterm to see American Hustle, or whatever Oscar contender garnering serious buzz. Frankly the nippers are the harshest critics you’ll find this side of Armond White; they don’t read reviews and they don’t care.
That said, you can read our five star review of the ace Lego here, but needless to say we loved it as will you and your family. The film is making an absolute fortune at the global box-office but is also one of the best reviewed kids flick in years. We want to go again. Luckily, it’s still being shown all over the country and if you’re smart about what time you go, you can take the entire family for a very reasonable price.
Movies at Dundrum/Swords have special deals for you to take the kids to the cinema during the day called Early Bird at the Movies. They’re also still showing the brilliant Frozen, so you can tire them out as they sing along to the ridiculously catchy, soon-to-be-classic, Disney tunes. One for the little princesses here too with Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy.
For the slightly older boys Robocop isn’t a bad option either. It’s far from the violent action film you saw in the 80s, but a very well made blockbuster with a cracking cast. That’s still showing nationwide and is well worth a look.
Also doing great deals during the day are folks at The ODEON cinemas. And don't forget about the nationwide IMC Cinemas and the Omniplex family too.
There are few things more entertaining for kids than taking them to see a film they’ll adore for years this midterm. And if you’re smart about when ya go, you could save some bobs too!
