Michael Bay knows how to make a movie that generates some serious revenue at the box office, so much so that the sequel to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was announced approximately four minutes after the release of the first one this summer.
The work on putting together that sequel is already underway it would seem, and if rumours are to be believed then it might see the return of some much-loved characters from the franchise to the big screen.
Speaking to Omelete, producer Andrew Form confirmed that Shredder's two henchman/mutants would be featuring in the sequel, which is due for release in 2016: "We can say that Bebop and Rocksteady are in the film, and Casey Jones is a character that we love and we’re trying to fit him in as well".
There will also be a new director at the helm, namely David Green (Earth to Echo) as Paramount hopes to make the franchise even more kid-friendly than the last one was and are aiming for a new approach. Michael Bay will produce again along with Form and Brad Fuller.
