According to the beacon for journalistic integrity that is The Sun, Russell Crowe will apparently play Watson to Robert Downey Jr's Sherlock Holmes, in Guy Ritchie's version of the iconic crime sniffer. A "source" is quoted as saying: "Russell wants the part, Guy wants Russell. All they've got left to do is dot the I's and cross the T's". Crowe does have a hole in his schedule after his latest Ridley Scott flick Nottingham stalled a mere few weeks before production was supposed to start, so this could be feasible. 'Holmes' is due to start rolling cameras next month.
