The Irish shot film, Albert Nobbs, is being mentioned in the same breath as "Oscar" after screening at The Toronto Film Festival.

The film stars Glenn Close as a woman in 19th Century Ireland who disguises herself as a man to get more opportunities in life. It has a relatively small budget of €9 million, and shot in and around the capital last December and January. Also starring is the very talented Aussie actress Mia Wasikowska, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Aaron Johnson, the screenplay was co-written by Close, and has been a pet project of hers for some time.

Rodrigo Garcia, who worked predominately on the ace HBO series starring Gabriel Byrne and Wasikowska,  In Treatment, called the shots on the film.
