An Irish short animation from Souljacker, THE MONK & THE FLY, has become a huge YouTube hit after being selected as one of the websites ‘featured' clips on its home page and receiving over 81,000 hits in only a couple of days, reports Irishfilmboard.ie. It was made with The Irish Film Board through their Virtual Cinema Scheme
The film was written and directed by Matthew Darragh and produced by Sean Smith, who previously won IMTV awards for Most Original Concept and Music Video of the Year for their hugely inventive promo, Devil in the Detail by The Ambience Affair. They also picked up Best Music Video at Digital Socket Awards this year, and are really gaining momentum.
The lads at Souljacker are currently working on live action short, Kidsmoke, and another animated one called Origin. We should see some more of their excellent videos soon too.
