Irish director Tomm Moore gained more than just plaudits as his debut feature, The Secret of Kells bagged an Oscar nomination. Now the Irishman has followed up that hugely successful animated film with another that's already a bit of a critical darling across the pond.
Song of the Sea opens in the US this coming Friday and holds an impressive 100% positive rating on reviews site, Rotten Tomatoes.
Scribes from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter are calling the film "dazzling" and "satisfying" and have no doubt it will replicate the success of 'Kells'.
Brendan Gleeson, Fionnula Flanagan, Pat Shortt and Lisa Hannigan all voice characters in the production, which centres on a girl called Saoirse, the last of the "selkies," who are women in Ireland and Scotland who can transform seals into people.
We'll have to wait until March to see this one.
