Irish director John Moore has been confirmed as the man who will be bringing a fifth Die Hard film to the big screen.
Moore has previously directed all of his films for Die Hard's studio, 20th Century Fox, including Behind Enemy Lines and Max Payne. He's generally considered by the online masses to be a safe choice for the franchise, with names like Fast 5 director Justin Lin, and Attack The Block helmer Joe Cornish previously being linked. Moore actually knows his action, and Fox are apparently big fans of his - he just had to convince Bruce Willis he was the right man for the job. The setting this time out will be in Russia, with John McClaine's son apparently involved.
Moore started out as a director of photography on short films, and moved into directing promos for Sega - which impressed studio bosses enough to give him Behind Enemy Lines. Max Payne and The Omen remake were stylishly done, but not as good as they could've been. That said, the man knows how to put an action sequence together and if he gets the full support of the studio and Willis, it could be a cracking sequel.
