One of the most innovative and uniquely visual directors working today, Terry Gilliam has made some of the most inspiring and, at times, baffling films ever made. From the life of Hunter S. Thompson in Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas to time travel with Twelve Monkeys, Gilliam has always been fiercely independent and has never conformed to one style or one idea of what his work is.
His latest film, The Zero Theorem, is a callback to his earlier sci-fi masterpiece Brazil and features Christoph Waltz as a man living in a deranged version of the future who is tasked with calculating whether or not life should exist. As you do.
Gilliam spoke about the film's script, his previous work and what he makes of the Internet and, most importantly, the upcoming Monty Python reunion.
