Insidious has become the most profitable film of the year so far, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film had a production budget of $800,000 according to director James Wan, and an overall cost of $1.5 million says THR. It has so far grossed $44.5 million in North America, and should see overall final grosses in and around the $90 million mark. "It shows that there is still a market for quality genre movies, and that it is possible to make film on a micro-budget," Jason Blum told the trade paper. Blum produced both Paranormal Activity movies with Oren Peli.
The film is (so far) outgrossing the far more fancied Scream 4, and is released in Irish cinemas this Friday. Check it out; some genuinely scary moments.
