Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull had a hugely impressive opening weekend stateside, as the sequel grossed $101 million for the Friday to Sunday period, but $126 million for the four day memorial weekend. Indy’s high opening affected Prince Caspian, which slid hugely to $23 million, taking its toll to a decent, but unspectacular $90 million. Elsewhere Iron Man continued to hold strong, taking a further $20 million - leaving it with $257.8 million and counting. The Robert Downey Jnr. starring superhero movie will take some beating this summer; and I wouldn’t bet on Indy topping it given the poor word of mouth. Next week see’s the Sex And The City movie being launched worldwide - calm yourselves ladies... it’s almost time.
