Maybe, just maybe, this time the rumour mills aren't telling us porkies. It's been 14 years since Will Smith saved the world, well, he also did it in Men in Black and Hancock, sort of, but in Independence Day there was a UFO which made is much cooler. According to ComingSoon, Smith has already signed up but, filming won't begin until after he has finished Men In Black 3 and The City That Sailed, so there's plenty of time for it to nose dive once again. The original director Roland Emmerich would return behind the camera, but he too has film commitments for what looks like another two years. Ah someday lads you'll get around to it, no rush, I think we'll put this on down in the maybe pile for the moment though.
