Brendan Gleeson, Sharon Horgan & other stars were out in force

Some of the biggest stars of the Irish film and TV world turned out for the IFTAs, which took place in Dublin last night.

Brendan Gleeson, Jessie Buckley, Ciaran Hinds and Sharon Horgan were among some of the big names that made an appearance at Dublin's Convention Centre for the 20th edition of the ceremony.

Martin McDonagh's 'The Banshees of Inisherin' proved one of the big winners on the night, as well as Horgan's 'Bad Sisters' - with the cast of the show (minus Eve Hewson) in attendance to reap their reward.

The Sinead O'Connor documentary 'Nothing Compares' won Best Documentary, while Paul Mescal scooped Best Actor for his leading role in 'Aftersun'.

The Oscar-winning short 'An Irish Goodbye' also bagged the IFTA for live-action short film.

The ceremony will be broadcast on RTE2 tonight from 9.35pm.
