It marks Hugh Grant's first horror since the '80s

Hugh Grant takes on his first horror in years with A24's 'Heretic'. The psychological horror released its first trailer today with Grant holding quite the sinister screen presence.

'Heretic' hails from 'A Quiet Place' writer-directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Grant stars as Mr. Reed, an older gentleman who at first seems harmless when he answers the door for a pair of young Mormon missionary women (Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East) spreading the word about Jesus Christ.

Things take a sinister turn once the girls realise they are in fact trapped in Mr. Reed's house. In order to escape they must go through an intense series of psychological games.

This is Hugh Grant's first horror since 1988’s Bram Stoker adaptation 'The Lair of the White Worm'.

An official release date hasn’t yet been revealed yet for 'Heretic', but it's expected to be in cinemas in Ireland this autumn.
