Give the people what they want, Disney - a terrifying giant baby.

For people of a certain vintage in this nation, 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids' is one of several mediocre movies from the '80s that holds an unreasonably large place in their memories.

It's along the same lines as Eddie Murphy's 'The Golden Child', Willow', 'Flight of the Navigator' and probably 'Look Who's Talking' in there as well. You go back and watch it now, and there's just way too much to ignore. Anyway, because there is nothing new under the sun, 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids' is the latest movie to get a legacy sequel nearly 30 years after the original.

Variety reports that Josh Gad will take on the role of Rick Moranis' now-grown son, who becomes a scientist and creates a device which - wouldn't you know it - ends up shrinking his offspring down to a size where giant babies roam the earth and terrify people. The movie was originally supposed to be a Disney+ exclusive, however execs at the House of Mouse were that enthused by the script, they're now pushing ahead with a theatrical release.

Joe Johnston, who also directed 'The Rocketeer' and 'Captain America: The First Avenger' as well making his directorial debut with 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids', is set to return for this. No release date has been set as of yet, but expect to see this gaining size (heh) pretty soon.
