Everybody has a favourite Christmas movie, don't they? While I'd find it a challenge to pick just one - I prefer to have a Christmas movie marathon featuring all the yuletide greats y'see - Britain have named Home Alone as their ultimate best. Starring Macaulay Culkin as the cherob faced cutie left behind at Christmas to fend for himself against a hilarious gold-toothed Joe Pesci and his sidekick Marv (Daniel Stern), for many it's the music in this flick that makes it a winner.
Blinkbox carried out a survey on 2,000 adults which showed that it's at Christmas that we watch the most amount of TV. Not much of a shocker, really. What does seem quite a lot though is news that the average person will spend about five and a half hours a day with their arse in front of the telly over those most joyous winter days.
Other results from the poll revealed that 78% of people like to watch the same movie every Christmas. While Home Alone came in at number one (winning 28% of the vote), it only narrowly beat it's runner up - Raymond Briggs animation The Snowman - which stole the hearts of 27% of the group.
Filling out the rest of the top five were Miracle on 34th Street, Elf and Love Actually which came in at 26%, 20% and 18% respectively. What about It's a Beautiful Life? And who could discount Tim Allen's The Santa Clause?
