The film examines the life and work of New York humorist Fran Lebowitz
Martin Scorsese's last partnership with Netflix proved hugely successful with 'The Irishman' - and now the legendary director is returning to the streaming service with his latest project.
'Pretend It's a City' is a documentary about humorist Fran Lebowitz - an author, sometime actor and public speaker who has been called a modern-day Dorothy Parker by some, because of her witty observations on life. Scorsese directed the film and also features in front of the camera.
The first trailer for the documentary, which debuts on Netflix on January 8th, has landed and intersperses footage of Lebowitz being interviewed by Scorsese in front of an audience at an American Film Institute event, as well as conversations with the 70-year-old Lebowitz about her work and her life in New York.
Scorsese's next feature film, 'Flowers of the Killer Moon', is set to begin filming in 2021.
