The mother-load of all films has been made, as if there was a gathering around the round table of top notch filmmakers. With Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner) directing, Cormac McCarthy (No Country For Old Men, The Road) screenwriting and our own sexy-yet one serious brooding actor may we respectfully add- Michael Fassbender starring as the lead role, the gods have had a say in this one.
The thriller also casts Penelope Cruz and husband Javier Bardem, as well as Cameron Diaz and Brad Pitt. The looks and the talent; all the goods are here for this one so it appears. The film tells the dark story of a lawyer caught up in an ever-worsening situation involving drug trafficking. With McCarthy's track record of modern noirs, bloody westerns and affinity for an apocalypse or two, it was hardly going to be a comedy. Speaking to Empire, Ridley Scott embellished on the mysterious plot by saying 'It's really frightening. It's saying: 'Don't play with the devil, don't step across the line, don't think you can do it and get away with it. You can't'. The Counsellors hits cinemas soon.
