The horror classic 'Hellraiser' is the latest from the decade to get a revamp.
Clive Barker's 1987 cult horror, 'Hellraiser', is getting a reboot with the help of David S. Goyer, writer of 'Man of Steel' and 'Batman Begins'.
Considered by some to be among the greatest British horror movie ever made, 'Hellraiser' spawned a total of nine sequels. The lead character in seven of these was a demon known as Pinhead, played by English character actor Doug Bradley, who is summoned to Earth via an antique puzzle box. You need to see the movie in order for it to make sense (and even then, it doesn't really).
Anyway, David S. Goyer has been announced as the writer / producer for the reboot, however no director has been attached as of yet. Despite being mostly associated with his comic-book adaptations, Goyer's also worked pretty extensively in horror. He did an uncredited rewrite of 'Freddy Vs. Jason', wrote and directed 2009's 'The Unborn', and was involved in all three 'Blade' movies as well.
No release date has been set for the reboot of 'Hellraiser', but given how successful other reboots of '80s horrors - such as 'It' and 'Pet Sematary' - expect to see this one pretty soon.
