Back in 1999 in Montreal, a group of film-makers came together and created "Kino", a non-competitive crowd-sourced way to make movies. It is an idea and film-making revolution that has spread all over the world, and now it is about to embark on its first film-making Kabaret in Dublin.

The Kino motto is "Do well with nothing, do better with a little, and do it now", and the mentality is to promote strong, independent film-makers to team up and create together, bringing to the table whatever their talents may be, as the Kino is open to every aspect of film-making, from the actors to the directors to cinematographers and composers.

The film-making sessions are split into three groups, one a 48 hour run (July 13th/14th) and two 72 hour runs (July 15th/16th/17th and July 18th/19th/20th), with screenings of all of the movies made at a later date.
