Magic wands across the country are being dusted off in anticipation of the nationwide release of the latest instalment in the Harry Potter series - The Half Blood Prince. Yesterday saw the Irish premiere of the much-anticipated tween wizard flick and initial reports seem to be almost universally positive. The film has also received a glowing endorsement from one of the more unlikely sources - The Vatican. The Roman Catholic Church has praised the movie for highlighting the "sacrifice" necessary for good to triumph over evil. The Vatican's very own newspaper insists that Half Blood Prince is the best adaptation of any of JK Rowling's books to date, even going to far as to say that the teenage loves scenes hit "the right balance" of credibility for the audience. The Vatican's film reviewing department isn't so full of praise for Tom Hanks' Angels and Demons, however. Funny that, it being a film about blowing up the Vatican and all... Elsewhere, in other Potter news, Tom Felton who plays the anonymously evil Draco Malfoy is maintaining in interviews that he has stranger fans than Daniel Radcliffe. One such loon even wanted to adopt him. "He'd legally changed his name to (Draco's dad) Lucius Malfoy and wanted to be a happy family. He didn't get a reply." The Vatican have yet to comment on this, however, because we didn't ask them.
