Hancock defied the critics and posted a huge opening stateside, as Will Smith once again proved that he is the biggest movie star on the planet. The degenerate superhero flick has coined a massive $107 million dollars since its release last Wednesday, easily giving it the top spot and ranking as the third biggest July 4th opening in history - behind only Transformers and Spiderman 2. That was the only big opening of the weekend, as holdovers dominated the rest of the chart, with Wall-E coining a further $33.4 million; Wanted taking $20.6 million after a sharp tumble and Get Smart rounding out the top four with $11.1 million. Next week is packed, with Eddie Murphy starrer Meet Dave, Brendan Frasier adventure flick Journey To The Centre Of The Earth and Hellboy 2 all opening amidst a hugely competitive chart.
