It would make a great redemption story
Speaking in an interview about her directorial debut 'Bruised', Berry was asked which of her past movies she would like to direct.
"I would love to direct 'Catwoman'. If I can get a hold of that now, knowing what I know, having had this experience, and reimagine that world the way I reimagined this story"
'Catwoman' came out in 2004, and is noted as one of the worst movies of the last few decades.
Critically panned upon release, the film lost around $20 million in the box office. It also picked up several 'Razzie' awards, including 'Worst Picture'
There were multiple changes to the plot of the original comic books. Instead of Selina Kyle, Catwoman had a completely different character called Patience Phillips.
In another change from the comics, Phillips became Catwoman by being brought back from the dead by a magical cat.
Berry added, "I would have Catwoman saving the world like most male superheroes do and not just saving women from their faces cracking off, you know, make the stakes a lot higher. And I think make it more inclusive of both men and women"
Zoe Kravitz will play Catwoman in the upcoming film 'The Batman'. Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway have also featured in the role in recent live-action films.
