Sherlock Holmes and Snatch director Guy Ritchie has been confirmed as the man who will take over directing duties from Steven Soderbergh for The Man from UNCLE.
There has also been a casting merry-go-round with the project, with George Clooney, Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum all linked at different points. With Ritchie's confirmation as helmer, that should bring about some solid movie star attention. The first Sherlock Holmes movie was a huge hit and the sequel is apparently tracking really well too; generally speaking great tracking turns into great box-office. It's also a Warner Bros. production so will keep him at the studio.
Could he have already spoken to Robert Downey Jr about the film? Could be another franchise for the increasingly prolific movie star, but he'd surely want the script tailored to his strengths.
