A movie about two big monsters destroying the world? Sure, why not
'Godzilla vs. Kong' now has an official trailer and it's the escapist monster showdown we've been waiting for.
The trailer drops shortly after it was announced that the release date for the movie is getting pushed up.
Having been originally scheduled to hit cinemas on May 21st, it now arrives in theatres in the US on March 26th.
It will be available to stream on HBO Max from the same date.
'Godzilla vs. Kong' will be available for 31 days on the streaming service at no extra cost to subscribers.
The film is a sequel to both 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' and 'Kong: Skull Island'.
It is the fourth film in Legendary's MonsterVerse.
The official release date for its release in Ireland and the UK has yet to be confirmed. However, it is expected we'll get the movie in or around the same time.
'Godzilla vs. Kong' stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kyle Chandler.
The official synopsis reads: "Legends collide in 'Godzilla vs. Kong' as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance.
"Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond.
"But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth."
