Mark Wahlberg and James Franco have both signed on to offer support in the Tina Fey/Steve Carrell romantic comedy Date Night. Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy is helming the film, which, with that twosome at the centre, could be comedy gold. But again, Shawn Levy is directing, so we must hope that Carrell and Fey's brilliant comedic ability shines through regardless. According to Variety, Wahlberg will play a flirtatious security guard, while Franco will portray a not-too-bright criminal. It has all the ingredients to be a truly excellent comedy - except a good director. Hey, Levy could still surprise us, so let's hope he does. I just wouldn't bet the kids college funds on it (unless you don't like your kids)
