James Franco and Anne Hathaway have reportedly been approached about hosting the Oscars 2011.

According to Deadline.com, producers initially wanted to bring back Hugh Jackman, but the actor will be hard at work on the new Wolverine film, thus unlikely to find the time for rehearsals etc. Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin were awful last year - that show fell flat on its arse - so they are obviously attempting something completely different.

Franco is expected to be nominated this year for 127 Hours, so there may be a conflict with his hosting duties. Neither actor has confirmed anything yet, so the early favourite, Tina Fey, could still be wielding the microphone come the big night.
