The movie is heading to cinemas this weekend

This could be the perfect uplifting movie to watch as cinemas begin to open up again.

You might be able to dance in the aisles of your local cinema, but that won't stop you from dancing in your seats. This latest 'In the Heights' look lets us see how the first eight minutes of the movie will play out.

Starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Barrera and Anthony Ramos, the musical is based on the Broadway show of the same name. based on the book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, and featuring songs written by Lin-Manuel, this will certainly be one of the biggest musical releases of 2021.

The story is centred around the predominantly Hispanic area of New York City, known as Washington Heights, as everyone goes about their busy workdays. Taking place over three days, we meet numerous people such as shop owner Usnavi, his girlfriend Vanessa, cab company owner Kevin, and his daughter Nina. It follows the lives of these characters, their hopes and dreams, and how they get by each day.

Jon M. Chu, known for the latter two 'Step Up' movies and 'Crazy Rich Asians', has directed the musical which has been receiving glowing reviews.
