Nobody, not even Vin Diesel in a supercharged muscle car, can outrun COVID-19.
Now that 'A Quiet Place Part II', 'No Time To Die' and a couple more movies have been pushed back from release, it shouldn't come as a surprise that 'Fast and Furious 9' is pumping the brakes on its release date.
A statement today from Universal Pictures confirmed that the release date has been pushed back a full year from May 2020 to April 2021. This now means that Fast and Furious fans will be looking at a full year and a month before Vin Diesel and John Cena beat the crap out of each with CGI cars.

As of now, it's not yet known how many movies will be impacted directly by the coronavirus. Already, the likes of Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Festival have either been rescheduled or cancelled, which would severely change out the road to awards season in 2021, not to mention streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime hoovering up indie darlings.
All in all, it's a strange time and with cinemas implementing social distancing measures and the likes of IFI closing their doors until March 29th. Stay tuned for more movies delaying releases in the future.
