Galactus will soon cast his shadow on the Marvel Cinematic Universe

The cast of the 'Fantastic Four' reboot is forming thick and fast, and now we have its villain.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that British actor Ralph Ineson is set to play the role of Galactus, one of the most formidable and iconic villains in the Marvel Universe.

Harry Potter fans will have previously seen Ineson from his role as Amycus Carrow in the movie franchise. He was recently seen in horror prequel 'The First Omen' and in Gareth Edwards' 'The Creator'. Ineson rose to fame following his role as Chris Finch in the original UK version of 'The Office'.

This isn't actually the actor's MCU debut either, as hardcore fans may remember him for his blink-and-you-miss-it role as a prisoner in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'.

Ineson's villain Galactus is described as an entity of immense power who consumes entire planets to sustain himself. Galactus is often portrayed as neither fully good nor evil but a force of nature, driven by the need to consume planets to survive. The character previously showed up in 2007's 'Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer' in the form of a CGI-generated cosmic cloud but that didn't go down too well with fans. Here's hoping they have better plans for Ineson's incarnation of the character.

He's excited about it anyway.

Other recent casting news for 'Fantastic Four' includes John Malkovich joining the movie in an undisclosed role, as reported by Deadline. Ineson and Malkovich will join Pedro Pascal as scientist Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

Filming for the new 'Fantastic Four' is planned for mid-summer in England, and is currently set for release on July 25, 2025.
